Family time

Rob and I are blessed with a wonderful family, some who we see loads of, and others we'd like to see more of but distance and time are an issue. And over the last few weeks we've managed to see most people in one guise or another, so I thought I'd dedicate a post to our families, and the kind of things we get up to.

My sister Nikki and her son Liam, live fairly close and so we see them alot which is great as the cousins are all fairly close in age and play pretty well together. Here they all are making pizza for tea.

Rob's dad and step-mom and son, are also frequent visitors, although due to location not as frequent as they or us would like, so when we see them we make the most of it, with lots of cuddles.

And of course accompanying Grandad when he plays the guitar.

Uncle Hayden is a huge favourite in the house, and is known affectionately by Meg as "the grumpy teenager". He's brilliant with the kids and apart from hiding under the duvet at 6am wakings (well in honesty who wouldn't?), he spends hours playing with them when he's here.

We've also been fortunate recently to spend time with more removed family, and last weekend visited my Aunt for her 70th birthday. Her granddaughter (so I think my 2nd cousin) is also called Megan, so this is big Meg and little Meg enjoying the novelty of a shared name.

And of course a kiss from the birthday lady, who is most definitely 70 years young (and with 4 dogs and 2 cats has a house the girls think is a bit like a petting zoo!)

And last but not least my mum and dad, who are very frequent visitors and rescuers when we have work/childcare crises. Dad and Izzy have a special bond and are clearly from the same mould. Mom and dad are those fab grandparents who tickle and wrestle, and pop over when the cats needs a trip to the vets, or mommy needs collecting from the airport, and who join us for family days out and trips to the theatre.

As I said we're blessed and I'm so lucky to have such a brilliant family for the girls to grow up in, long may it continue.
