Relaxing week

We had a great first week of the holidays, all of us at home and chilling out and doing lots of festive activities, but also just being lazy and not going anywhere and mooching round the house doing bits of various crafty projects, a bit of pre-Christmas cleaning, and lots of games with dollies and various sized cardboard boxes. The girls have also been playing out a fair bit as it isn't that cold (for December!).

We took the girls and their cousin to see the very pretty lights at a local garden centre, and I can't get over how grown up Isobel looks in this picture! I think it's the shoes as she and Meg had matching ballet pumps to go with their Chistmas dresses.

Isobel is really getting into imaginative play and the whole small world thing, and she loved looking at these miniature houses and spent a fair old while talking to the little people.

We took the girls ice skating on a temporary rink in the town centre, which they both really enjoyed, it was so sweet when we walked passed the same spot a couple of days later and Izzy said, "oh ice skating gone, not fair!".

They did a wall-paper nativity with Sunday school, which they really enjoyed and as they all had an equal role in telling the story based on their pictures, it was a great all age activity.

And the highlight of the week was tea and a story with Santa and Nana. A very lovely Santa and a very magical build up to Christmas for two very excited little girls.
