Isobel Grace

Megan was Baptised at 8 months, and we fully intended for Isobel to be Baptised at a similar age, we have a lovely church and we're fairly active within the church community, so it's something that's important to us. But around the time we started thinking about it was when my Grandmother was diagnosed with cancer, so we decided to wait till she was better and done with treatment so she could enjoy the event too, but she didn't get better, and then life got in the way with all the upheaval at work, so it took till September to get round to booking a date - Today.

And what a lovely day it was, a simple service, within the main family mass and then a family get together at ours. I was going for a mad hatter tea party kinda theme for the food, hence the abundance of pink and cakes. There were vegetables and sandwiches too!

Isobel was in her element! And loved seeing all the family and being the princess of the day. Here she is with godmother (and for all intents and purposed grandmother) Wendy Lady.

She received some lovely gifts, and so many beautiful words of wisdom for us to hold for her till she is old enough to understand. We loved this lovely cross stitched letter I from my Auntie Ann, which is going on the wall in the girls room.

She had great fun cutting the cake, and was a little too gun-ho with the knife for daddies liking!

And of course she enjoyed dressing up in her lovely (£6 second hand from ebay) dress. I asked Isobel what she thought about her baptism and she said "Father mark, cross head, bath with water (aka font!), mine Jesus now" so I think she got the idea ;-)

It really was a lovely way to start the year.
